Although my first encounter with this planet actually occurred when I first visited with Lord Viskey on the balcony of the "House of Noble" decades ago, I didn't actually explore the planet itself, until a later date during a night of dreaming. I understand Oerthan to be the galactic seat of responsibilities for the House of Noble whose center of activity revolves around the recognition of, the sorting out, and forwarding of physical world supplications, regardless of denomination or religious orientation. The following is my account of the dream state soul flight taken with Amondu.
Arriving on the planet, I was mesmerized by all the tall trees and short under growth. It was a jungle like landscape. The trees towered up over head but there were some places where I could see blue sky where open patches existed. It was all natural looking. The most predominant color was green, although, like a rain forest perhaps, there were a few smatterings of various flowers that showed other colors in the under growth. Flowers, when I saw them, were predominantly red and orange. Some were in shades of violet or purple and others were blue and green - but the greens were like a fresh spring green, bright when contrasted with the otherwise, darker greens of the forest.
As I moved forward into the forest, I knew that I was proceeding along a sort of path, which to me, seemed composed of a thick luscious textured moss - something like what might be found in the Pacific north west of America. It was quite wide as paths go, in a dense forest setting. Three to four souls could move comfortably while abreast with each other. There began to be open places. Places where the trees became shorter, their stature, somewhat thinner than the mature taller growth, that now seemed to be deeper, more recessed into the permeating forest surrounding us. Where this "shrinking" of the growth occurred, there were also the occasional twists and bends - the elbows of the pathway that turned to left or right. I could now find a variation in the landscape, discovering what in the distance mostly, were mountains and valleys, diminishing in detail the farther away they became, until finally, as if it were a background to a beautiful oil painting, a vast and flat bluish violet area rested to the horizon. It was, I believed, an ocean, or at least an incredibly large lake far away.
We moved along the pathway, still totally immersed within a luxurious green tapestry until I paused and looked forward at the request of Amondu. He told me to watch carefully to "this side" of the path as we continued forward, pointing to my left flank. I could see nothing but tree trunks and foliage that bobbed up and down ever so slightly. Its movement was just enough to animate the whole scene. We took a couple of steps forward, and I halfway expected some kind of jungle creature to be lurking in the undergrowth, perhaps waiting to pounce. But no animal was to be seen. Instead, I began to make out in the greenery some definite, yet somewhat discrete, horizontal and vertical lines - as if my gaze were upon a photograph of the forest edge, but that someone had penciled over the image with geometrically straight lines reaching both away and above what we approached.
In another two steps forward, the dark greenery in which we were surrounded - and that I thought was in front of my line of sight, had melted into a pale green "flattish" structure that was beginning to look like the size of a house. In another couple of steps forward, all greenish hues disappeared, and I was looking at a very large, very smooth, milky white translucence, that indeed, had become the exterior walls of some kind of forest structure suitable for lodging within. Amondu explained that this was a form of camouflage. At greater distances, the exterior surfaces of all structures reflected to perfection the surrounding forest plants, but at close range, the structures took on a milky white translucence and let in light. It was impressive to watch the transformation occur between what could not be seen and what could be, in a matter of just six or seven strides.
We approached the structure and paused on the foot path at what would be the center of the property. Now that all green coloration was gone, I could tell that I was at a front entry way to a short walled courtyard with a much smaller pathway leading up to a house sized building with tapering walls. In fact, as I scanned the structure, I could figure out that it's taper matched that of what could be a pyramidal form. It was a "pyramid like" thing that had - instead of a pointed peek - a flattish roof about two stories tall. All upward reaching faces shared the same angle of slope, and all horizontal planes were markedly flat.
Eventually it was revealed to me that all structures considered to be a shelter on this planet of Oerthan were composed of a pyramidal shaped crystal "seed" that could grow into a substance similar in texture to a glassine smooth, alabaster translucence. The crystal material could grow into structures as large as we wanted to make them. They could be honeycombed with hollow passages and interior rooms. There could be rooms with stairways and open windows. They could be grown laterally so as to make balconies or landings, ball room dance floors or cathedral ceilings and roofs. They could be grown into the shapes of walls with open ceilings, or secluded and intimate courtyards. Short or tall, it didn't matter, but everything originated from a tiny simply shaped crystal. And it didn't matter how thick a wall, or even the whole structure could be. From the outer wall to the deepest heart of its interior, there was always a pleasant soft glowing light that radiated through what otherwise, would be considered as a whitish solid material. A material that could only be seen in its natural condition at close range. Any farther away than, perhaps twenty feet or so, and its complexion would only mirror its surrounding flora - but apparently, not those who come into close proximity while visiting.
