glossary "F" to "I"
first cause : The 'first' presupposes necessarily something which is the 'first brought forth, the first in time, space, and rank' — and therefore finite and conditioned. The 'first' cannot be the absolute, for it is a manifestation. Therefore, Eastern Occultism calls the Abstract All the 'Causeless One Cause', the 'Rootless Root', and limits the 'First Cause' to the Logos, in the sense that Plato gives to this term. With Plato, that power of the mind which is manifested in *speech; its relation to nous or intelligence is not always clearly distinguished.
(*this author's clarification : "not the 'ability' to manifest speech: not the 'content' of speech; but the intellect initiating it).
fohat (Tibetan-Mongolian) The constructive Force of Cosmic Electricity - polarized - into positive and negative electricity born at any point of friction or union as the relation between polar opposites. The forthgoing Power of the Third Logos (the "Actively-Creative" Logos), that unites and brings together all forms, giving them the first impulse which becomes in time law. Fohat is ever-present and active from the primordial beginnings of a manvantara to its last end, nor does it then actually pass out of existence, but becomes quiescent or latent as it were, sleeping or dormant during the cosmic pralaya.
galaxy : (anagogically): 1: a reference to any of the various and diverse, but localized empyrean realms of Heaven. 2 : anywhere a massive collection of indigenous souls share energy esp. as with harmonious qualities and/or character. (see: planet)
Godelian knot (SAU): Kurt Godel proved that any attempt to produce a paradox-free mathematical system is bound to fail if that system is reasonably complex. You can always find a statement within it that the system cannot prove. In fact, the system can be either complete but inconsistent or consistent but incomplete. This proof being made by the so-called "impure logic" of tangled heirarchies.
hylozoistic theory (Esoteric Psychology) : living substance, composed of a multiplicity of sentient lives which are continuously swept into expression by the "breath of the divine Life."
hypostasis : Literally, "that which stands beneath".
1: (Philosophy): the underlying or essential part of anything, as distinguished from attributes; substance; essence.
2: (Metaphysics): the essential nature of a substance as opposed to its attributes.
3: (Heaventological usage): (more at "lower") Used as this author intends : "that which exists beneath" - as in: "below other things", deriving from medical usage : "the accumulation [of blood or fluid] in the lower parts of the body [or organs] (under the influence of gravity)." My choice for specifying the descending layers of purity in reality. (for practical reasons, my usage may be in direct contrast to orthodox religious usage, although matter is substance, the essence, heart and soul can all be extended towards originating in the "body of Christ".
imaginary time : If we imagine "regular time" as a horizontal line running between "past" in one direction and "future" in the other, then imaginary time would run perpendicular to this line as the imaginary numbers run perpendicular to the real numbers in the complex plane. Imaginary time is not imaginary in the sense that it is unreal or made-up — it simply runs in a direction different from the type of time we experience.
ignorance (SOC) : usage of the word "ignorance" should be taken in a Buddhistic or Hinduistic sense meaning "ignore-ance" of Reality. It has nothing to do with being literate or illiterate, intelligent or stupid.
In the words of Ramana Maharshi, "Illiteracy is ignorance and education is learned ignorance. Both are ignorant of the true Aim. The 'true Aim' is the non-dual mode of knowing, while being literate or illiterate concerns the dualistic and symbolic mode of knowing. Ignorance, in other words, is ignorance of the non-dual and non-conceptual mode of knowing, which would instantly reveal the universe to be Mind-only. It is thus ignorance of Mind-only which literally creates the conventional and symbolic universe of separate things extended in space and succeeding one another in time; and since the major instrument of ignorance is thought, it is thought itself which is ultimately responsible for the seeming existence of the conventional universe."
Inferior Positive Principle (Supreme Doctrine; Hubert Benoit) : The Red Dragon, as depicted in the familiar Chinese symbol of the "T'ai-ki", the white part which includes a black circle and is named "Yang" represents the positive universal forces such as, masculine, dry, hot, etc. This is one half of the creative motive power of the "Ten Thousand Things". When combined with its opposite, the symbol is encircled by a ring which altogether represents the Superior Conciliatory Principle.
Inferior Negative Principle (Supreme Doctrine; Hubert Benoit) : The Green Dragon, as depicted in the familiar Chinese symbol of the "T'ai-ki", the black part which includes a white circle and is named "Yin" represents the negative universal forces such as, feminine, wet, cold, etc. This is one half of the creative motive power of the "Ten Thousand Things". When combined with its opposite, the symbol is encircled by a ring which altogether represents the Superior Conciliatory Principle.
in illo tempore : "in that time"
intracise (Heaventology) : The process of bonding a higher entity with the animal soul of a mortal, that results in the creation of a more sophisticated "human soul". As a secondary coincidence, it can also establish a psychic corpse (of kama-rupa) for the conjoined entities, that would astrally persist until it slowly dissipates after physical death.
