"... The manasic permanent atom is our nucleus of future causal bodies, and these bodies are gradually built up of particles of matter belonging to the same quality and type as its nucleus atom. When it is so built through long ages of evolution, the overshadowing divine centre of consciousness, which has through the ages also evolved individually, unites with it, and the immortal individual Ego starts on its upward climb ..."
But those are the words of Alice Bailey, an earth plane entity speaking of Esoteric Psychology from her conspicuous level of manifestation. And they make reference to an "upward climb", we had not yet taken upon our selves. For now, from the atman of our "primordial light," we were being eluviated towards the plane of the physical. If ascension towards Nirvana were the goal of the spiritual aspirant, then certainly, we behaved as the antithesis to them all. As we "surfed" the ray of this solar logo onward and downward into the physical environment, we were quickly becoming a force of entities to be reckoned with. Yet, even as we neared the earth plane, there would be an increasing awareness that we existed as a "separate" entity beyond the eyes - eventually, even presuming that we were beyond the reach - of our omniscient Creator. In later languages, such perception would be labeled as: "mayavi"; an illusion. And it is the belief in this illusion of separateness that is a heresy against the Great Absolute.
It seems that separation incites self importance. In hind sight, I'd have to say that nowhere else would the influence become more predominant than during the assemblage of our manasic atom. Though by now you and other mortals like you, were at peace in your dreaming state, those of us existing as your higher soul had already descended into the deepest levels of your mortal subconscious. Though we had not yet become "humanly embodied", we had begun to walk amidst the nucleic ideas and concepts of your sleeping minds. We were the "psychic influences" upon your animal soul; the shadowy figures lurking in the twilight of your self cognisance. When you would awaken though, the illumination of finding yourself squarely in the existential level of reality would be the earliest platform for us to begin building our psychological suits of armor upon the work horse nature of your flesh.
We would build them with our ideas and concepts. There would be discriminations that would overtake your imagination. Pride and vanity would preempt humility and surrender, for we were confident with the infirmity of human nature. And with this confidence, we had drifted into your sapient minds wielding the promise of utilizing you for world dominion. Your humanly born flesh, merely existed as the "horse soldiers" that would be fused with our own quality of mind energy, and as that lucidity began, our manasic atom would "concentrate" into permanence. In our fusion together, we would become the cavalry of mental ingenuity, able to "think on its feet" and to see our organism throughout all of our earthly endeavors.
Or, so went the plan.
Perhaps you would take heart in the fact that even since the days of the Lemurian root race, it was always phenomenally impossible to permanently take over the mental unit of a lesser mind. However, this is not to say that the higher mind cannot act directly on and through the physical body. To do so, we merely have to manipulate your tantric attributes of perception and form. We are quite capable of exciting the brain into various mental representations of spiritual ideas, and these would be far beyond any objects on this material plane that you would normally be aware of. Although it occurs in rare circumstances, for you to "feel" the awareness of having a divine "calling" would require considerable purity, both of the lower mind and of its body. Even at that, we can still only induce a mental representation of spiritual ideas. Lofty though such conceptions may be, they are ultimately being experienced within the domain of the lower mind anyway.
So, in truth and in nature the two minds -- the spiritual and physical -- are one, but they will separate into two at reincarnation as the result of our hypostatic fallout. Know that it is not impossible for the highest qualities of the two minds to re-converge as the "upward climb" begins. This would be that point in nature where Madam Bailey's reference to a "gradual build up of matter of 'similar' quality and type" is actually addressed, thus preserving the individual personality of each deserving soul. Here then, is where the issue of how our ego would be "colored", "embraced", "subdued", or "discarded"; or that which determines the purity and quality of the entity who now works within the chosen parameters of an ego's power of illusion.
Yet such is the nature of illusion in this phenomenal realm ... Such is the nature of an ego upon one's organismic awareness, as well. On one front, the higher soul experiences the mayavi of separation from the Divine, while the lesser soul experiences the mayavi of separation from it's "saving grace". The illusions are many. As the Mind (of God) is repressed, reality is projected as organism versus the environment. As spirit becomes man, the organism "against" its environment triggers an incessant battle between the "validity" of life over the "negation" of death. In that confounding discomfort, the grievances between psyche and soma are also compelled to manifest.
The "experience" of separation between our higher and lower mind is represented by placement of the Ley Lines between our Manasic Permanent Atom and our Mental Unit, as seen on the chart of "The Egoic Lotus And The Centers" (see glossary). You would see that they do not directly connect except by navigation through the conjoined nature of our egoic lotus; our "desire principle" or, "kama". Between our two natures, the ego cushions each of our rights to sentience in the eyes of our God, leaving room to aspire or to deprecate at each, our own, behest.
To coin an old euphemism, this was the point where "all hell had broken loose." As this was not so readily apparent in our manifestation within your "being", we had discretely manufactured another unanticipated weapon in our arsenal of heresy : the exchange of some of our Neptunian insight and intuition with fantasies of imagined value and virtue. It seems that when the mortal personal ego resists engagement with the monad of its expression, an impure lucid actualization is possible. The difference between our two natures had become a metaphysical alchemy we lords would not be prepared to reckon with for generations to come.
While this is not to say that value and virtue in and of themselves are fantasy, any sentience less than the Absolute Itself, can only reflect on such things in bits and pieces. As it is the nature of "Absolute" to nullify any and all distinction - such as between a good choice and a poor one - it is therefore the appointment of each manifest soul to pick and choose wisely what should be nurtured as one traverses the realms. The ideal for the evolution of man and his soul, is to find the noblest balance attainable between knowledge, love and sacrifice. This was something not readily apparent in our trespass upon uncharted territories with vehicles propelled by free will. We had not journeyed here before.
The fusion of our manas-kama was originally not seen as a problem because it was expected to represent the purest obtainable state of our personal ego. We hadn't even considered yet, the necessity to exist with the influence of some very important mortal tendencies in the same "phenomenal" reference frame. Eventually, we came to discover that our conjoined essence was going to be a "dualistic" union, indeed. This "after the fact" revelation came to show that we were now fated to hold a two-edged sword so-to-speak. In each instance of our aggressive effort to sway others for salvation, we were also tormenting our own souls. And this would remain with us until our battles were won. The problem only became apparent when faced with the delusion of which battles we were supposed to be fighting - the survival of our newly hybridized ego or that of the hylozoistic and untarnished soul.
While our lower and higher minds (Manas) became infused, we would certainly not choose to discard our Kama (desire) - for this is what gave us the emotional intent to achieve a victory over the Lemurian insolent. These were the foundational qualities of our various cosmic principles. It was the metaphysics behind how we bonded to our objectives. Unfortunately, it was also a sacrifice that connected us to material things through your animal soul - your "kama-rupa". You see; even though Manas always aspires upwardly, Kama has an incessant attraction towards that which is "below." If goals and objectives could be said to have magnetic attributes associated to the will, then when we fused our manas-kama, the monopole nature of our being had suddenly become an inescapable existence in a polarized world. At this moment, with that part of us identifying with the human personal ego while another part identified with our monad, internal conflict became a question, not of "whether," but rather one of "how intense".
